Transition Mouldings

GPS Affinity Transition Mouldings are produced with the same strand woven material as Affinity Strand Woven Hardwood Flooring. It is as hard and durable as the floor. The color and grain are similar and will coordinate well with the color floor you choose.

Threshold Mouldings are typically used at doorways, but can also be used when making a transition between flooring of different heights similar to using a Lap Reducer profile.

T Moulding

T-Moulding is used to make a smooth transition between different hard surface floors. It can be use at doorways, adjoining rooms where the flooring is approximately the same thickness.

Lap Reducer Image

Lap Reducer

(5/8" thick x 1 1/2" wide x 72" long)

Lap Reducer is typically used at the transition between flooring of different heights when the wood flooring is floated over the subfloor to allow for the movement of the floating floor system. Lap Reducers are ideal for transitioning from a floating floor to either a vinyl or low pile carpet floor and also ceramic tile if there is a difference in height.

Lap Stair Nose

Lap Stair Nosing adds the finishing touch to floating hardwood flooring at steps, stairways or other changes in floor elevation. The Overlap Stair Nose is used when the floor is floated over the subfloor to allow for the movement of the floating floor system.

Quarter Round Image

Quarter Round

(3/4" thick x 3/4" wide x 72" long)

Quarter Round Moulding is typically used at the transition between the wall base moulding and the floating floor. They can also be installed alone, creating transition between the floor and cabinetry. Be sure to nail the moulding only to the wall and not to the flooring to allow the flooring room for expansion and contraction.

Quarter Round Specifications

When installing the transition moulding be sure to pre-drill the nail holes and do not nail the moulding to the hardwood floor - only to the sub-floor or adjacent wall. Be sure to blend the color of the planks with the color of the transition moulding, so that the colors coordinate well between the two.
